Sabbath, February 22, 2014

We were happy to worship together Sabbath morning, starting with a Sabbath School song service combining the Smyrna Chapel with the Internet classroom. We then separated into adult and youth divisions for our lesson study. Sister Ann Ford continued her study on the sanctuary with the adults, and the youth continued their study on King David. The youth also studied the pika with Sister Tamela Franklin and electromagnetism with Pastor Allen Stump. You can view all the slideshows for the youth lessons here.

Here is a solemn promise for forgetful parents: “. . . seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children” (Hosea 4:3).

The Worship Hour began with prayer and an opening hymn. Following prayer requests, Brother Leon Holt led us in intercessory prayer. Then Pastor Allen Stump presented the message of the hour, entitled “Atonement from Sin” part 2. This sermon can be heard here. The slides for the message are here.

Following the sermon, our worship service with our long-distance church family ended, and the services of foot-washing and communion then were offered to the Smyrna church family.

We thank each one for joining us in worship every Sabbath morning and look forward to our next Sabbath together.

Following a fellowship meal, some of the Smyrna family enjoyed the warmer weather with a hike at Twin Falls State Park. We surely wish you could have joined us!

“It is the greatest joy of the angels of heaven to spread the shield of their tender love over souls who turn to God” (Our High Calling, p. 92).
