Sabbath, May 17, 2014

The Bible teaches the need we have as Christians to fellowship by stating, “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching” (Hebrews 10:25). The blessing we receive from obedience to this command is difficult to estimate. While some may not always be able to physically meet together due to illness or geographic issues, we are thankful that many could, and did, meet online with us this last Sabbath.

Our youth Sabbath School class began with a nature story from Sister Tamela Bridges, and then Pastor Stump shared a science demonstration on how vinegar and salt combined could clean copper while either alone could not. This was compared to the Christian's need to have both faith and works in his life. The lesson study was on Naaman and his recovery from leprosy. You may see the slides from this Sabbath School here.

Here is another promise for parents and their children: “And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live” (Deuteronomy 30:6).

Brother Dennis Robertson shared a message of encouragement during the 11:00 worship time.

Pastor Stump's sermon presented on May 3, while in Arizona, entitled “The Day Jesus Died” is now online, and you may listen to it here. The slides are available here.
