Sabbath, November 16, 2013

Greeting from us here at Smyrna. We were blessed with a beautiful day at Smyrna.

The Youth Sabbath School began prayer, and then Pastor Stump did an experiment using neodymium magnets to reveal that there was iron inside US currency, as well as iron filings in Total brand cereal. The lesson was made that we are all building a character, and we may be building a good character or a bad one, but it shall one day all be revealed.

The nature lesson was on hornets and how God told Israel that he would use hornets to drive out the Canaanites. The main lesson was on King Saul and his character defects and how we do not want to repeat the things that formed his bad character. You may view the slides for today's Sabbath school here.

The adult class was studying Bible texts which prove that Jesus is the Son of God.

Pastor Stump began the first message on a series on servanthood. The first message was entitled "On Being Good Servants." In this lesson we learned of seven qualities that make one a good servant. You may here this sermon here. The slides for this sermon may be viewed or downloaded here.

This Sabbath may have been one of our last warm days: therefore to take advantage of this, after services most of the Smyrna family packed up to go to Beartown State Park. Beartown is one of our favorite places, and as always we all enjoyed the boardwalk hike there.

Thank you for listening to our services, for we are blessed to have you join us, and may the new week be filled with God’s presence.

We invite you to join our online and telephone conference services each week--Youth Sabbath School at 9:40 a.m. EST Sabbath morning, Worship Service at 11:00 a.m. EST Sabbath Morning, Story Hour at 7:00 p.m. EST Monday, and Prayer Meeting at 7:00 p.m. EST Wednesday. May God richly bless you until we meet again.
